Why monitor hydrogen?

Due to the fact that hydrogen molecules are extremely small, they are likely to leak from containment. While hydrogen molecules are non-toxic to humans they are, in fact, extremely flammable. This hazard is exacerbated by the fact that hydrogen is both colourless and odourless.

Hydrogen in the air is flammable at concentrations between 4% and 75% with the energy required to ignite in these conditions being as low as 0.017mj (around 93% lower than the energy required to ignite gasoline).

It is extremely important to have a hydrogen monitoring and analysis that is highly accurate in order to ensure that safety of workers operating in industrial applications. If you would like to learn more about our hydrogen monitors contact our sales team at office@gasdata.co.uk or call on 024 7630 3311.

Common uses of hydrogen

Hydrogen is commonly used across a wide range of industries for various industrial applications. Industries such as refrigeration, medicine and the drinks industry use hydrogen regularly to serve different purposes. Usage of hydrogen in fuel is also becoming more common and with this increased usage the need for adequate monitoring and analysis is all the more important.
